Have you ever wondered what Heaven will be like? Have you ever imagined walking on streets of transparent gold
walls of jasper and gates of pearl? How about seeing a sea that's as glassy clear as crystal? Maybe you have envisioned
sitting with old friends that you may have known from another time and place, as you are sweetly serenaded by a heavenly
choir. Perhaps, you've dreamed of humbly casting your crown at the feet of Jesus, The One who made it possible for you
to enter the Celestial City of God in the first place. No doubt the words you just read have ignited a spark within
you. Maybe they've caused you to think of just what Heaven really means to you, personally. If they have, you'll
thrill as you hear Linda Foster sing the beloved old song that was made famous by the late Vestal Goodman, "This
Is Just What Heaven Means To Me."
As a matter of fact, if you enjoy thinking about going to Heaven, you are sure to enjoy ever song included on Linda's
debut CD, appropriately titled, "HOME". It wasn't until after the songs
were selected and the music tracks recorded that it was noticed that there was a running theme: going 'home'
to Heaven.
The CD opens with a hauntingly beautiful tune, "When I Start My Day With You",
and subtly turns to a ballad about "The Healer", Jesus Christ. Things really start popping
with the afore mentioned classic "This Is Just What Heaven Means To Me", followed by two Kyla
Rowland compositions, "I'll Drop My Anchor On The Other Side Of Jordan" and
"The Landing Lights". Slightly veering from a classic Country Gospel style
to a more electric pop sound, Linda performs a tune written by her dear friend, CharLotte Baker. "I'm Just
Waiting For My Ride", takes the listener on an emotional journey from a mother and child at a school bus stop
to an old man anticipating his final journey from this earth to Heaven. This song is sure to bring a tear to the eye.
Next comes another song about Heaven, "Oh, What A City", an old favorite written by Mike Payne.
It sets the stage perfectly for a bluegrass rendition of the Walt Mills tune, "One Day I Will".
Dottie Rambo's mystical "It Will Pass" will make you want to shout. It reminds us that no
matter what storm you may be facing right now, faith in Jesus will see you through. Finally, one last song about Heaven,
"Holy Angels Take Me Home" . If you close your eyes, I'm sure you'll feel the presence
of sweet, holy angels as the encamp around you. But wait. There's a hidden surprise after the final strains
of "Holy Angels". Well, you'll have to purchase a copy of this recording for yourself to enjoy
that!
Linda Foster possesses one of the most powerful voices in all of Southern Gospel Music, yet she can tenderly caress a
melody and present it with gentleness and sincerity.
